Fire update & how you can help
Photo by Ted Warren, Associated Press
With the fires in the Methow Valley, Lake Chelan and greater Okanagan County featured so prominently in the news, many of you have sent the Inn your positive thoughts for our safety and your sadness about the destruction and loss brought by the fires.
Again.
We thank you. Please know that we and our property are all fine. We are blessed to be part of a remarkable, close-knit community that learned a lot last year about not just surviving a fire, but defeating it and rising from its ashes stronger than before. So we just keep going. We keep very, very busy to try to stay ahead of the sorrow and heartbreak of lost lives. And we reach out and try to be kind, supportive and helpful to everyone we know and meet.
The firefighters, who have again become part of our community are our heroes. Plain and simple, they demonstrate remarkable courage and persistence on an hourly basis. It is because of them that we still have a community to treasure.

We have included here, just a few of the many agencies that are helping locally and across our region in the recovery from the fires. Any of them would welcome your support and we can assure you that it will get to those who are most in need.
• Community Foundation of NCW (North Central Washington) has set up a fire relief fund to assist families and individuals that have been impacted by the fires. www.efncw.org/firerelieffund/
• Room One has also set up a fund for local fire victims and long term recovery. They do not need any goods donated, but would welcome financial support. www.roomone.org/fire-relief-fund/
• The Cove provides food, aid, shelter and comfort for people of the Methow Valley. It also runs the local food bank in Twisp.

There are of course many others agencies offering immediate and long term aid – these are just a few we know well.
Thank you again for your kind thoughts and words of encouragement. They are very much appreciated by all of us. The Inn is safe and up and running. Labor Day is STILL a B & B Weekend!
Unlike last year and somewhat amazingly, most of the valley is untouched by the fires, including many bike, ski and glorious hiking trails. As always, we look forward to seeing you in the weeks and months ahead.
